If you're a First National Bank of Santa Fe customer, especially one who works downtown, you probably know the bank's main office is closed and will be through early November.

If you need access to your safe deposit box, you can go next door to the Delgado Building and a personal banker will help you.

As for parking, that will be available in the bank's main parking lot downtown. The temporary office on Washington Avenue will also have parking.

Smith's customer John Versace has some ideas for the grocery, whích is planning the renovation of its Pacheco Street store, off St. Michael's Drive.

"It's simple enough," Versace said in an email. "Because Smith's faces north, the roadway directly in front of the store is always in the shadows in the winter."

As a result, "cars pack down the snow into rock-hard ice right there where we have to walk from the (mainly cleared) parking lot to get to the front door," Versace said. "We oldsters cannot take the chance of falling. A patch of 35-degree heated pavement just there would make the world of difference."

Smith's couldn't be reached for a comment.

Peter Taylor has the Luscious Liquid juice and coffee shop in booth No. 1334 at Santa Fe Place.

Taylor previously worked for Whole Foods and managed several restaurants, including Il Vicino and Annapurna Chai House, before opening his own business.

Business, he said, is pretty slow because so many mall stores have closed, and a renovation of Santa Fe Place is on hold until February.

"They held off because they thought someone was going into the Mervyn's space," Taylor said. "But that fell through. What they need is a couple of good, established chains" to come in to the mall.

In the meantime, Luscious Liquid is open from 9:45 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. seven days a week.

The business' phone number is 438-7306.

Taylor also operates Luscious Liquid in the Railyard on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and at Jackalope on the same weekend days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
