Young Professional deadline Wednesday

Professional Business Women of Santa Fe (formerly Capital City Business and Professional Women) is once again recognizing the accomplishments of young professionals and entrepreneurs in the Santa Fe area.

Candidates for the Young Professional competition will be judged on their writing and speaking skills as presented in an essay, interview and a prepared speech. Biographical information such as community involvement and personal history are also taken into account.

Applicants — either male or female — must be between the ages of 25-35; be interested in such women's issues as pay equity or work environments; and have at least one year of work experience in the career area.

Applications must be received on or before Wednesday. Contact Victoria Bruneni at vbruneni@innatsantafe.com for more information and a nomination form.

The competition will take place March 23 at the Santa Fe Country Club, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Child advocacy group gets grant

New Mexico Voices for Children has received a $1.4 million grant that will allow the nonprofit to work on improving the economic status of low-income families in the state by implementing a statewide effort to enhance early care and education systems.

A big component of the grant will be to educate policymakers and the public about how aspects of child poverty impede a child's ability to learn. New Mexico has one of the highest rates of child poverty in the nation, according to U.S. Census data.

New Mexico Voices for Children was founded 22 years ago by a group of pediatricians to address environmental conditions inherent to poverty that negatively impact a child's health and well-being. For more information, visit www.nmvoices.org.

Santa Fe adviser given high marks

Senior financial adviser Jeremy C. Campbell ranked in the top 25 percent of 2,417 participating advisers who scored 96 percent or higher in a recent Ameriprise financial client satisfaction survey.

His office is 300 Galisteo St., No. 10, in Santa Fe. The telephone number is 995-0714.

BTI catalog most comprehensive

The 2010 catalog from Bicycles Technologies International, a Santa Fe company, is arriving on shop doorsteps nationwide this week. At 20,000 products and more than 1,000 pages, this is the wholesale supplier’s most comprehensive publication yet.

The new catalog is filled with nearly 5,000 new components and accessories for road, mountain and urban riding.

One of the biggest updates this season isn’t a product at all, but a major revision to the company’s shipping policy. BTI’s new 3Day at Ground program is designed to provide an economical choice for air delivery to dealers outside of the distributor’s normal three-day ground shipping area.

The company’s Web site is www.bti-usa.com.
