Richard Bell and his business partner, James Brethour, will soon open what they say is the first fitness center on Airport Road. It's their second center in Santa Fe.

"We are bringing a convenient way for those on the south side to reach their fitness goals on their own schedule," Brethour said in an email.

Anytime Fitness Santa Fe Southside is expected to open in mid-October.

It's in the Zia Center, on the north side of Airport Road, at 4641 Airport Road, Suite 9 and is open 24 hours a day.

Bell and Brethour also started and manage the existing Anytime Fitness on St. Michael's Drive.

"Members of the existing [center] are welcome to train at the new site with their existing membership," Brethour said.

With the second site opening, there will be "no more waiting for the gym to open or rushing to finish a workout before the doors close," Brethour said.

The new center has a monitored security system with 16 cameras, a controlled entry system, emergency telephone and panic alarm.

"Members will be safer at Anytime Fitness Santa Fe Southside than they would be at home," Brethour said.

Currently, there is a discounted membership rate available. That offer will end when the new center opens.
