The 48-year-old Fairview woman found dead alongside N.M. 68 early Friday morning is likely a victim of homicide, a state police spokesman said.
State police first received a report about a woman's body about 1:30 a.m., said Lt. Eric Garcia. Elizabeth Quintana appeared to have suffered blunt force trauma, though final word will rest with the Office of the Medical Investigator, which is conducting an autopsy, Garcia said.
The body was found about three-and-a-half miles from Ohkay Owingeh on the state road, he said.
Anyone with information about Quintana can call the state police office in Española at 753-2277.
