Jan. 18, 1963: The Public Service Company of New Mexico will put a new 230,000-volt line into service in March that will connect users of electricity in the state with a national power network the aluminum highway for electricity will extend from Albuquerque to the Four Corners area of New Mexico, where it will hook up with the system of Arizona Public Service Company. The Arizona lines are already tied to the national grid, which extends from the Atlantic to the Pacific coasts and goes as far north as Ontario, Canada.
