From The Santa Fe New Mexican:

June 30, 1908: Following the announcement that Sunday closing law would be enforced, the merchants decided to heed the warning almost to the letter.

Sunday was indeed a "tight" day in the Capital City. Cigars were at a big premium, liquor was as scarce as pleased soda fountain owners; tobacco was not to be had other than by begging.

Antonio J. Luna, son of Mrs. L.C. Armijo and nephew of Solomon Luna, arrived home last night from Denver where he has been in school.

June 30, 1958: A Santa Fe woman who admitted attempting to defraud the Welfare Department of $90 was ordered to attend church every Sunday, with her children, for at least two years.

June 30, 1983: A dump truck load of what one county official suspects is asbestos was discovered in an arroyo in La Cienega this month. County road crews did not remove the illegally dumped material until one week after it was found. There was enough asbestos there to contaminate all the water from here to Albuquerque.
