The Santa Fe Police Department is investigating the following reports:

• Someone attempted to sell a stolen Nikon high-power camera lens to the Camera and Darkroom shop, 216 Galisteo St., on Wednesday. The lens may have been stolen in Taos.

• A digital camera and jewelry were stolen Tuesday from a home on La Tusa Street.

• A man told police that he was defrauded of $22,500 in a bad-check scheme involving a house rental between Monday and Thursday.

• A violin and a briefcase containing a laptop computer were stolen Thursday in the burglary of a 2006 Volvo sports utility vehicle parked in the 1100 block of Old Santa Fe Trail. Another auto burglary about the same time in the same area netted the culprit $1,000 in cash, a cell phone, credit cards and jewelry. The second vehicle was a 1999 Jeep Cherokee.

• A burglar or burglars made off with two TVs and a laptop computer from a home in the 100 block of East Lupita Street on Thursday.

• Two DVD players, a Direct TV control box and four speakers were stolen Monday from a home in the 3200 block of Lopez Lane. A window had been broken.

• Jennifer L. Nieto, 28, of Santa Fe was arrested Thursday on a charge of battery of a household member in connection with a fight at home in the 2700 block of Galisteo Street.

• A checkbook and a flashlight were taken early Friday from a 2001 Volkswagen parked at a home in the 3200 block of Louraine Street.

The Santa Fe County Sheriff's Department is investigating the following reports:

• A 1997 green Honda convertible, four gold coins and $60 in cash were stolen recently from a home on Caliente Road in the El Rancho area.

• Someone stole a washing machine, a weed cutter, a lawn mower, a roto tiller and storm windows Thursday from a home on Pablo Drive in La Cienega.

• At least one thief made off with several power tools Wednesday from two portable storage units at a construction site on Visa Redonda in Tesuque.

• A Toshiba laptop computer, a Wii console and six games were stolen Thursday from a home on Caliente Road in Eldorado. A neighbor reported seeing a man loading items into a red Honda Prelude, New Mexico license plate LBM 978, that had been backed up to the front door.

• A laptop computer, a digital camera, and an iPod turned up missing Thursday from a residence on Estrella De La Mañana in Eldorado. Entry may have been made through the doggie door.

• A man brandishing a handgun attempted to force his way into a home on Pajarito De Azul in Tesuque on Wednesday but was thwarted by the person who answered the door. The suspect fled the area.

DWI arrest

• Samuel Souza, 22, of Santa Fe was arrested Thursday on suspicion of driving under the influence after a traffic stop in the 1100 block of Pen Road.
