The Santa Fe Police Department is investigating the following reports:
• A purse was stolen about 4 p.m. Wednesday from a woman at the entrance of the DeVargas Center. The suspect fled the scene in a red pickup with the license plate 143 PRP.
• A MacBook Pro, an Apple iPod, a hard drive and a men's mountain bike were stolen from a residence in the 900 block of Calle la Paz.
• Several jewelry items were stolen Wednesday from a home in the 1200 block of Zepol Road.
• A burglar used a tire iron to force open a front door in the 1200 block of Zepol Road and stole a Dell laptop and other items.
The Santa Fe County Sheriff's Department is investigating the following reports:
• Two carpet-cleaning machines, a guitar and clothing items were stolen Wednesday from a residence in the 3900 block of Agua Fría Street. The thief entered through an unsecured front door.
• A 32-year-old woman was arrested on charges of battery against a household member. Officers responded to the scene on Vuelta Ventura Street and learned the woman battered a household member with a shaving cream can.
DWI arrests
• Sheriff's deputies arrested January L. Maes, 30, of Santa Fe on Airport Road at Calle Lucia. She was charged with driving while intoxicated and two counts of child restraint. Also, her vehicle registration was expired and she was unable to produce proof of insurance, according to the report. Two children were riding in the back seat, one sitting on the other's lap, and sharing one seat belt.

Today's location of the Santa Fe Police Department's mobile speed enforcement vehicle:
u From 7:25 to 8:15 a.m. and 2:10 to 2:55 p.m.: Nava Elementary School on Siringo Road between Camino Carlos Rey and Alamosa Place.
• When not parked at the school, the vehicle will be located on St. Francis Drive, between Sawmill and Zia Road northbound.
