The Santa Fe Police Department is investigating the following reports:
  • A fraudulent check was used recently to purchase an ice maker machine from Sierra West Sales, 856 St. Michael's Drive.
  • Rings with a total value at $24,420 were stolen between Sunday and Thursday from KG Holland Jewelry at the former Mervyn's department store in the Santa Fe Place mall, 4250 Cerrillos Road. The rings belonged to a California vendor.
  • An orange pipe laser and a digital camera were stolen late Wednesday or early Thursday from a 2005 GMC pickup parked in the 3000 block of St. Francis Drive.
  • A stereo was stolen late Wednesday or early Thursday from a Ford Ranger pickup parked in the 2200 block of Camino Carlos Rey.
  • Undisclosed items were stolen Wednesday from a residence in the 100 block of Sombrio Drive.
  • A Kevlar vest was stolen between Feb. 23 and Feb. 25 from a state probation office at 2000 St. Michael's Drive.
  • The State Employees Credit Union recently reported the fraudulent use of a deceased customer's credit card account.
  • Phyllis M. Calabaza, no age given, of Santa Fe was arrested Thursday on suspicion of abuse of a child and battery on a household member.
  • Joseph Jensen, 34, of Santa Fe was arrested Friday on charges stemming from the burglary of a boat parked in a storage facility in the 3100 block of Plaza Blanca. A woman with Jensen, Chandal Like, 26, of Santa Fe was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Various articles of military clothing were stolen between March 2 and Friday from a residence in the 4200 block of Calle Cazuela. Entry was made through an unlocked window.
The Santa Fe County Sheriff's Department is investigating the following reports:
  • A 12-gauge shotgun, jewelry and a camera were stolen Thursday from a residence on Rosalas Caminito.
  • A Santa Fe County man reported multiple unauthorized debts on his debit card to various utility companies throughout February.
  • Various electronic items and jewelry were reported missing Thursday from a residence on La Cueva Creek Road. Entry was made through a doggie door.
  • Destino Montez, 32, of Santa Fe was arrested Thursday on a probation and parole warrant. No details were available.
  • Javier Vasquez, 40, of Santa Fe, an inmate at the Santa Fe County jail, was charged with being a fugitive from justice out of El Paso.
  • A pair of gold-studded earrings were reported stolen Thursday from a residence on Camino Dimitrio. The victim told deputies she is currently moving and has had several people from different companies going in and out of her residence since March 1.
DWI arrests
  • Police arrested Michael J. James, 35, of Santa Fe on Sunday on charges of driving under the influence, open container and speeding after a traffic stop in the 3200 block of Cerrillos Road.
  • Deputies arrested Jolyn Romero, 21, of Santa Fe on Friday on charges of aggravated driving under the influence, careless driving, driving on a suspended or revoked license and on a warrant for failure to appear. The arrest followed a two-car collision at U.S. 84/285 and County Road 88 in Arroyo Seco. Romero's car allegedly struck the other vehicle which had stopped at a red light. There were no reports of injuries.
  • Deputies arrested Garry Onstott, 57, of Santa Fe on suspicion of driving under the influence after a motor vehicle crash Thursday on Interstate 25 near mile marker 293. No injuries were reported.
