The Santa Fe Police Department is investigating the following reports:

• A 40-caliber Glock 22 pistol with two magazines was stolen Tuesday from under a mattress at a residence in the 2800 block of Cerrillos Road. The culprit apparently entered through a front window after removing the screen.

• Someone broke into a travel trailer parked at the Warren Inn, 3357 Cerrillos Road. Nothing appeared to have been stolen, but medications were taken. The burglary occurred between Aug. 14 and Saturday.

• A home in the 1300 block of Barranca del Oro was burglarized Tuesday. It was unclear from the police report whether anything had been stolen.

• A gold church pin turned up missing Tuesday from a home in the 1600 block of Cerro Gordo Road.

• Legends Fine Art gallery at 143 Lincoln Avenue was broken into Tuesday, but it was not clear whether anything had been stolen.

• Christian Romero, 33, of Santa Fe was arrested Tuesday and charged with shoplifting, abuse of a child, and possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana in connection with an incident at the Kmart shopping center, 1712 St. Michael's Drive.

• Several items of jewelry were reported stolen Monday from a home in the 700 block of Kathryn Street. Two neighbors reported seeing a white pickup parked next to the residence.

The Santa Fe County Sheriff's Department is investigating the following reports:

• The resident of a home in the 3100 block of Jemez Road told deputies that at 10:30 p.m. Monday, a man she did not know crawled through a window and struck her several times and choked her. The victim said the attacker told her he was looking for his daughter. The woman told the man his daughter was not at the residence. The man stayed at the home until about 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to the report, and when he left, he took several DVDs and the victim's cell phone. No further details were available.

• Alexander Monroe, 25, of Santa Fe was charged with battery against a household member in connection with a domestic dispute in the 17000 block of U.S. 84/285 in Tesuque on Tuesday.

• Cigarettes, red jewelry, gold earrings, a black onyx ring, peal earrings, a silver diamond wedding band and miscellaneous costume jewelry were stolen from a home on Calle Zanote on Tuesday. The home, which had been ransacked, had been entered through an open bathroom window.

• A resident of a home on Camino Vista Verde told police Tuesday that someone unlawfully entered the residence through an open window and stole about $2,440 in jewelry and 15 tablets of hydrocodone. The victim reported seeing a white Ford Mustang driving around the area in the morning.

DWI arrests

• Lazarro Chavez, 39, of Santa Fe was arrested Tuesday on charges of driving under the influence, having no license and having an open container of alcohol after a traffic stop at the Buffalo Thunder resort exit on U.S. 84/285.

• Brian Saiz, 38, of Las Vegas, N.M., was charged Monday with driving under the influence, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop on U.S 84/285. A passenger in the vehicle, Agnes Estrada, 28, also of Las Vegas, was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

• Today's location of the Santa Fe Police Department's mobile speed enforcement vehicle: Salazar Elementary School between 7:25 and 8:15 a.m. and from 2:10 and 2:55 p.m., and on Rufina Street between Fox Road and the Zafarano Drive roundabout the rest of the day.

• Tuesday's location of the Santa Fe Police Department's mobile speed enforcement vehicle: Chavez Elementary School between 7:25 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. and from 2:10 p.m. and 2:55 p.m., and on Airport-Fields Lane for the rest of the day.

• Wednesday's location of the Santa Fe Police Department's mobile speed enforcement vehicle: EJ Martinez Elementary between 7:25 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. and from 2:10 p.m. and 2:55 p.m., and on Galisteo at Alicante for the rest of the day.

• Thursday's location of the Santa Fe Police Department's mobile speed enforcement vehicle: Nava Elementary between 7:25 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. and from 2:10 p.m. and 2:55 p.m., and on Siringo at Calle de Suenos for the rest of the day.

• Friday's location of the Santa Fe Police Department's mobile speed enforcement vehicle: Kearny Elementary between 7:25 a.m. and 8:15 a.m. and from 2:10 p.m. and 2:55 p.m., and on Zia Road at Vo-Tech for the rest of the day.
