That is the number of games John Lindsey played in the minor leagues.
Why is that total significant?
Because Sunday, the Los Angeles Dodgers informed Lindsey that he will be wearing a Major League Baseball uniform for the first time.
Los Angeles promoted Lindsey, a veteran of 15 minor league seasons, and four other Albuquerque Isotopes. The quintet is scheduled to join the Dodgers tonight in San Diego.
Lindsey isn't the only Isotope to receive his first call to the major leagues. Russ Mitchell will be making his debut, while Chin-lung Hu, John Ely and Jon Link are making return trips to the Dodgers.
The Pacific Coast League season ends today, with the Isotopes capping a four-game series in Round Rock, Texas. Albuquerque defeated Round Rock 3-2 Sunday night.
Lindsey wrote his name into the Albuquerque record book, becoming the first Isotope to lead the PCL in hitting, with a .353 average. He also posted league-highs in slugging percentage at .663 and extra-base hits, with 70. Lindsey racked a team-high 25 home runs, while collecting 42 doubles and 97 runs-batted-in.
Mitchell distinguished himself at the plate and in the field in his first season at the Triple-A level. He batted .315 with a career-best 23 home runs and 87 RBI. Mitchell led the PCL third basemen in fielding percentage at .958.
Hu spent nearly two months recuperating from thumb surgery to his right thumb, returning five days ago. He made an immediate impact in his return, notching six hits in his last eight at-bats.
Ely made 14 starts with Los Angeles this season, while Link pitched in six games for the Dodgers.
