PCL: Four Isotopes head to All-Star game

Four Isotopes have been named to the Pacific Coast League All-Star team.

Pitchers John Ely and Josh Wall will be joined in the upcoming midsummer classic by catcher Tim Federowicz and infielder Luis Cruz.

The PCL will face the best players from the International League in the Triple-A All-Star Game at Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo, N.Y., on July 11. The game will be broadcast live on MLB Network.

Federowicz will star behind the plate for the PCL. He was hittingg .284 with 20 doubles, seven home runs and 43 RBIs entering Thursday’s action.

Ely is the staff ace. He is 8-5 with a 3.38 ERA while Wall leads the PCL with 17 saves.

Cruz is hitting .320 and, like Federowicz, has seven home runs and 43 batted in.
