After seeing the midnight showing of Eclipse, the latest installment of the Twilight Saga, I find it safe to say that it is the best so far.
In Eclipse (starring Kristen Stewart,
Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner), the acting really proved the actors understood their characters. The first two movies were a little awkward with lines often strangely delivered. However, Eclipse showed us more.
Whether you're on Team Jacob or Team Edward, there are scenes for you and everyone in between. And not only were Jacob (Lautner) and Edward (Pattinson) given their time, but some characters that were hidden in previous films really shined. Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) earned his fair share of camera time, and there was a great scene with Rosalie (Nikki Reed) where she explains her seemingly unearned hatred of Bella — which isn't really hatred at all.
The movie takes place in Forks, Wash., where main character Bella Swan (Stewart) lives with her father, Charlie (Billy Burke), who is the chief of police in the small town. A group of ravaging newborn vampires is after Bella, seemingly led by Riley (Xavier Samuel), but viewers know Bella's vampire enemy, Victoria (Bryce Dallas Howard), also has something to do with it. While this is going on there is also the choice for Bella between immortality as a vampire with Edward, or a "normal" life with Jacob and the werewolves.
For anyone who has read these books (or even those who have just seen the first two movies), this third installment is a must see. And if you're planning on waiting for the DVD? Just remember this — those fight scenes won't look the same on that small screen.
