In 2009, video-game developer Rocksteady surprised comic-book fans with a Batman game not tied into a movie. Arkham Asylum told an original story that included an amazing combat system, and immersive voice acting.
Only two years after Arkham Asylum's release, Rocksteady has done it again with Arkham City. The Dark Knight's latest adventure begins with a bang and the action never slows down.
The city is huge and detailed to the last trash can or alleyway; perfect for you to glide and grapple nearly everywhere. You could ignore the main story for hours and still find the city entertaining. After completing the main story, I still hadn't finished half of the content the game had available. Arkahm City will have you addicted for weeks.
If you played the prequel, Arkham City's combat system will fit like a glove. The basic button configurations are the same but the many ways you can perform combos and takedowns is awesome.
The things that Arkham City does wrong are minor. For example, there are too many villains in Arkahm City. This is really cool for big fans of the comics but results in a lot of shallow plot development between the Caped Crusader and the secondary villains. Most importantly, Arkham City makes the player feel like Batman.
