Shwayze, a 28-year-old rapper from Malibu, has recently rocketed into musical fame with his hit singles "Buzzin" and "Corona And Lime." These two songs, along with a new reality show called "Buzzin," have dragged him quickly into the spotlight as a promising new artist.

This sudden fame is well deserved. Shwayze, along with Cisco Adler, who sings the majority of Shwayze's choruses, mixes rap with indie to create a sound similar to those of Sublime and Gym Class Heroes. Along with a killer sound, Shwayze revives the popular world of rap with clever rhymes that seem to have gone extinct over the years.

With lyrics like "Booty, booty, booty, booty, rockin' everywhere ..." (Bubba Sparxxx) on the radio, it is nice to hear something with class and personality. Shwayze's "Lazy Days" is the song I most often find myself humming. This soulful tune is very simple and sweet and always manages to make my head bump to the beat.

If you are interested in a band that proves that hip-hop is in fact not dead, you should definitely check out Shwayze's self-titled album due out on Tuesday.
