A winter storm took a quick sweep through Santa Fe on Friday morning, leaving more problems than snow in its wake.
Santa Fe police received 51 calls regarding motor-vehicle crashes Friday morning before 11 a.m. as late commuters struggled along icy streets to reach schools and jobs. Although the severity of each incident was not specified, the reports included "fender benders."
Meanwhile, the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office reported 14 crashes. The Sheriff's Office specified that their number did not include cars that simply slid off the road or minor fender-benders.
An inch of snow or less fell in parts of the city, according to the National Weather Service. Santa Fe will see temperatures remain in the 40s Saturday, dropping to an overnight low of 4 below. Forecasters predict partly cloudy skies but little moisture through the week.
