Sucker Punch, the developer made famous from the Sly Cooper series and the cell shaded, cartoonish art style that came with this critically acclaimed action/stealth platformer series for the Playstation 2, released a new IP (intellectual property) called Infamous, in which players play through the narrative of Cole McGrath, a bike messenger who has gained mysterious electrical powers through some sort of explosion. This same explosion destroyed the Empire City and left it in shambles.

As Cole, you have the choice to take advantage of the terror and disorder and to prey upon the weak or to bring justice to the gangsters that terrorize the city. The game does a good job of rewarding players with new powers depending on whether you are evil or good. One thing that is disappointing is that regardless of your actions the story is exactly the same, as in you see the same cut scenes and go on the same story missions.

The game play in Infamous is very like Grand Theft Auto, but at the same time keeps things interesting by adding powers and impressive platforming to conquer the city. The comic-book-art style and the fun, open-world game play was enough for me to play through it twice and enjoy each play through. If you like comics and have a Playstation 3, you should definitely play this fantastic title.
